Things to do in NYC during the winter

No matter the season, there is never a dull moment in NYC. If you are considering going into total hybernating, think again. New York has a little something for every interest. Remember that New York is gorgeous in winter, so don't forget to admire all the parks with snow covered trees. From music to food fests, this season doesn't shy away from city entertainment. Here are some NYC winter events consider instead of going into hiding from the Winter. Winter Jazz Fest Happening in January, the Winter Jazzfest hosts over five nights of a great jazz lineup. There is a signature two-night Greenwich Village marathon that brings music fans, vets and up-and-coming musicians to an array of cozy downtown venues. Tickets are sold by venue so a wristband grants you access to any of each night shows. Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Fest Stuff your face with all you can eat dishes like tender pork brisket and zesty ribs by masters coming from the deep South to downtown Manhattan. Between platters, go for limitless pours of craft suds and hooch, including rare, twenty-year-old bourbons. Feeling adventurous? There's a bacon eating contest where you can try your eating abilities for prices and goodies. Chinese New Year This holiday, happening in January, honors their household, heavenly deities, and ancestors. It is also a time for the family to celebrate and come together. The festivities include dragon dances, vibrant floats and vendor food. Head to Chinatown and enjoy the Lunar New York Year Parade and Festival. New York Boat Show If you love the sea, like us, then you can't miss this five-day nautical convention that features a vast variety of yachts, sailboats and more. The event also features a ''Be A Diver'' scuba pool, a boating simulator and Annapolis School of Seamanship seminars.
